About Us

Founded in 2023, Ask Meryn carries on the legacy of her grandparents' insurance business by providing education and support for members of the central Indiana community as they age into Medicare. Owner, Meryn Rathert, is proud to continue the family legacy by providing insurance to meet the needs of friends and clients. Meryn's grandparents, Bob and Linda Sprague, served Columbus and surrounding areas first with life insurance and later, Medicare supplement coverage, for over 40 years.

About Meryn Rathert

Meryn Rathert is a proud native of Columbus, Indiana. An alum of Columbus North High School, Ball State University, and the Kelley School of Business, she is a Hoosier through-and-through.

Upon graduation, Meryn worked for an insurance and financial services company in Indianapolis, before moving home and starting a career at Cummins. It was through these roles that Meryn developed a passion for building relationships with clients to provide excellent service and partner in meeting their needs.

Although Meryn loved her time in these jobs, she felt a calling to do something else with her career. So in July 2020, she came alongside her grandmother, Linda Sprague, to learn about the world of Medicare. Linda had already been helping friends and clients with Medicare supplements for over 15 years, and she was the perfect mentor and guide to teach Meryn the ropes. After working side-by-side for several years, Linda retired, and now Meryn is excited to answer client questions about aging into Medicare and help with their coverage options. She loves engaging, educating, and supporting clients with objective guidance on how to navigate healthcare in this new stage of life.

Outside of work, Meryn enjoys spending time with her husband, Jon, and their dog. She co-owns Dance by Design, a children's recreational dance studio, and on the rare occasions when her calendar is empty, you can find Meryn mountain biking, reading, knitting, watching football, or motorcycle riding.
